Posted under Poker & internet poker & online poker & online poker sites & poker tournaments & professional poker & tournament poker

Full Tilt has just unveiled an innovative informative site involving all the excitement of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an incredible online heads up tournament presenting some of the finest big money online players competing against the online poker star Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The brand new section presents poker players and fanatics the opportunity to follow this incredible internet poker challenge and get timely statistical updates. With this innovative “durrrr Challenge” site players can track all the action and look at each poker hand played during the poker challenge, and get lots of statistics, including how many hands were played, session time, amount won, average won during each hand and lots more.

Around six months ago, the 23 year old internet poker professional issued a heads-up poker challenge open to any poker player with the money, time and ability to accept it. Any poker player entering the durrrr challenge has to put up $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that at least 50,000 hands need to be played simultaneously at 4 or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the poker challenge, the player who has more money will secure the pool. Essentially if you enter the FullTilt.com durrrr challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will take home durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will take home your $500,000.

So far, a number of poker players have agreed to to play the Full Tilt “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, yet, only Patrick Antonius has agreed to the challenge. Thus far, both poker stars have engaged in a total of 20,647 hands out of 50,000, with durrrr up by $726,546 total.

Could I really make money by Playing Texas Hold’em?

Posted under Poker & poker chip & poker strategy

poker millionaires
Take a minute to imagine if you were to have a chat with any ordinary person off the street about Texas Hold’em poker, they in all probability wouldn’t deem online poker to be a game of practice, planning, or study. Chances are when you talk about Texas Hold’em with them, they would more than likely picture some guys sitting around their kitchen table having conversations and smoking cigarettes. They also might consider online Texas Hold’em to be a game of chance and not expertise, more like a game of roulette compared to chess, for instance.

So the big question is: “Could I become a millionaire playing poker?”. Believe it or not, you can actually make money this way. Quite a few people not only win money by playing Texas Hold’em poker, but also make a living by competing in Texas Hold’em tournaments. The first thing you have to remember about Texas Hold’em poker is that while you can play in a Las Vegas, Nevada casino, close to roulette tables and casino slots; in Texas Hold’em poker you are not contending against the house but against other Texas Hold’em poker contestants. So, in all reality, you are putting up your poker chips against other competitors in a match of aptitude as opposed to a game of luck.

You could be saying to yourself: “Doesn’t it pay to be lucky?” Certainly in online Texas Hold’em poker, nobody has any idea which poker cards will be dealt. That doesn’t indicate that you cannot play poker with a reliable amount of pre-game knowledge. One major thing to remember in Texas Hold’em is that numbers are always truthful. Mathematics has a rather essential role in the game of online poker. Not to forget, that even if you become somewhat lucky regularly the figures always have a way of bringing you back down to earth.

Keep in mind that Las Vegas, Nevada casino games comparable to online poker where you are in fact playing versus other actual players CAN be won. One will find that the more you play the game of Texas Hold’em, you will notice that it is more of game of aptitude and not only pure chance.

Several Pointers for reading poker faces

Posted under Poker & how to play poker & poker rules

An important facet in poker championships is conning your opponents by persuading them into thinking you have a good poker hand, when in reality it is most likely your hand is much worse than theirs. This is called “Poker face”, an expressionless face used to trick or deceive your competitors into buying an idea that might be false.

If you have a good hand it is most likely going to make you feel nervous, could possibly make your hands shake, and your heartbeat race. The previous symptoms are signs that your competitors may notice very fast, especially if they are good friends of yours. Try not to look at the pot if you have some good poker cards in your hands. This is very obvious to the other players that you are, in your mind, adding up what you might win.

In the condition where you have a mediocre or dreadful hand, try not to keep yourself from glancing at your poker buddies, don’t lower your head, and don’t be indecisive about your bet. When you can persuade yourself that your poker hand is just as good, or better than your fellow poker players; you will have a better chance of making them think this as well. Try not to forget to make this seem as normal as possible. Your gestures and actions might be saying one point, while the things you are saying are making them believe something else.

Another important aspect of this game is to be conscious of the competition’s “poker tells”. A “tell” is a habit or facial gesture that may give away information about their hand. One key rule to remember is when your poker buddy behaves as though he has a good Texas Hold Em hand; he, in all likelihood, is holding a weak hand. On the contrary, if he behaves as though he has a weak hand, he probably has a pretty decent hand.

Answering 3 of the most important Texas holdem’ tactics Questions

Posted under Poker & casino poker & texas holdem & tournament poker

Is it more effective to play a tight game or a loose poker tournament?

You will undeniably hear two sides of this argument from your fellow poker players or perhaps the so-called poker authorities. Let’s take a look first at the tight players. Everyone including yourself will find it hard winning, if the entire table is playing a tight game. Probably what will occur if you have a poker table full of tight Texas holdem’players is the poker players will wind up trading the smaller pots back and forth to each other. All the while the poker room is raking in loads of your hard-earned poker money, and that of your competition. So now you could think, is it better to play loose? Well, in this situation the better poker players are going to lose a smaller number of hands, but at the end of it all nobody is going to succeed.

How can I perfect my Texas holdem’ playing in the long run?

The answer to this question is as straightforward as a piece of paper and a pen. A great approach to find out a lot about your playing style and tactic, is to keep track of your Texas holdem’ playing. You could write down this information during the poker game, and then pass it to a database on your home computer. This can also help you learn about your competitor’s playing style, and what is the best strategy to defeat them.

Should I use the same strategy for every Texas holdem’ game?

If you think that being predictable is a winning tactic for playing poker, then you should consider changing your poker tactic. The poker pros have the same opinion that varying your Texas holdem’ playing method is the best way to confuse and baffle your poker opponents. You should try a handful of methods, discover the ones that work for you and alter them for each poker game.
